Welcome families,

My name is Elaine Nguyen and I am a national board certified Speech-Language Therapist living in Austin, TX. I am able to connect and support families all throughout the West Coast (WA, OR, CA) as well as TX. Chances are, you are here because you have a question or concern about your little one’s communication development. Questions like,

  • Is my child a late talker?

  • Why is my child not talking clearly? People seem to not understand what my child is saying and my child is beginning to show frustration.

  • Is my child just too “lazy” to use words to communicate?

  • How much screen time is too much screen time?

  • What kinds of books, toys, or activities should I be introducing to my child to ensure positive development?

  • How can I help my child build and maintain healthy friendships at school?

  • My child does not mean harm but often throws tantrums, hits/pushes, or uses their body instead of speaking when frustrated with others. Why doesn’t my child use their words to problem-solve/communicate?

  • What does my child need to know before starting school? How can I set my child up for success with overall academic readiness?

First off, you are not alone. Secondly, you are in the right place. These are all common questions to share with a speech-language pathologist who can help evaluate your child through formalized assessments and clinical observations to discover your child’s communication strengths and areas of challenges. Communication embodies areas such as speech sounds, play skills (yes! play is really pivotal to child development), understanding spoken words, talking, problem-solving skills, literacy, and social skills. I specialize in family-centered approaches, which means we will work together to create an individualized treatment plan and roadmap that works for both YOU and your little one. Think of me as your personal child development coach! Along the way, I will be tracking progress through data that is measurable so we can ensure we are on the right track. Together we will work on supporting your little one’s growth and development through empowering strategies and quality research-based therapy approaches. Sounds good? Let’s take the first step and get started!
